Web Application Development

Custom web applications, internal tools and dashboards, scoped around your workflow and built on a database you control.

Custom quote after a short consultation · Timeline agreed in your quote

Overview

Web Application Development is for software that does more than present information: internal tools, client portals, booking or order systems, and dashboards that read from your own database. Because each application is different, this service has no fixed packages; every project is scoped through a consultation and priced with a custom quote.

We start by mapping the workflow the application must support, the users and permission levels involved, and the data it needs to store. From there we agree a written scope, commonly built with Python for application logic and an SQL database for storage, and deliver in stages so you can review working features as they are completed.

A typical engagement includes the application itself, its database, user accounts and access control, and handover notes covering how it is structured and deployed. Hosting, third-party services and ongoing support after launch are quoted separately where needed.

Who it’s for

  • Teams running key processes on spreadsheets and email that need a proper system
  • Businesses that want a secure portal for clients or partners
  • Operations managers who need dashboards built on their own data
  • Start-ups that need a first working version of a web-based product

Problems it solves

  • A single system replacing scattered spreadsheets and manual steps
  • Controlled access so each user sees only what they should
  • Reliable data held in a structured database
  • Reporting and dashboards drawn from live application data

What RF ETS delivers

  • A working web application built to the agreed written scope
  • Database design and set-up for your application data
  • User accounts, roles and access control
  • Dashboards or reports where included in the scope
  • Source code with handover notes on structure and deployment

How we work

  1. Consultation and discovery

We discuss your workflow, users, data and constraints, and identify what the first version must do.

  2. Written scope and quote

We document features, screens and data structures, then provide a custom quote and a staged delivery plan.

  3. Build in stages

We develop features in agreed stages and share working builds so you can review progress and give feedback.

  4. Test and hand over

We test the application with realistic data, fix issues found and hand over the code with documentation.

What we need from you

  • A description of the workflow or problem the application must handle
  • Example data, documents or spreadsheets the application will replace
  • A decision-maker available for scope sign-off and stage reviews
  • Hosting and third-party accounts, or agreement on who will set them up
Pricing

How pricing works

This work varies too much for fixed packages. We scope it with you, then send a written quote with price, timeline and deliverables before any work starts.

  1. Tell us what you need

Use the quote form or book a consultation and describe your goal, constraints and deadline.

  2. We scope it with you

We review your material and agree deliverables, assumptions and what is out of scope.

  3. Written quote

You receive a fixed price or milestone plan, timeline and revision terms before any work starts.

Not included

  • Third-party costs: domains, hosting, paid plugins and themes, software licences, API or AI-model usage fees, data-provider credits
  • Work outside the written scope agreed before work starts (handled as an add-on or a custom quote)
  • Ongoing support after the delivery and launch-support window unless a support package is bought

FAQ

Web Application Development: common questions

Why is there no fixed price for web applications?

Custom applications vary too much in features, users and data for fixed packages. We hold a consultation, agree a written scope and then provide a custom quote, so the price reflects what your application actually needs.

What happens if we need new features during the build?

New requests are assessed against the agreed scope. Small adjustments within a stage are handled through your feedback; new features are documented and quoted as a change before they are built, so cost and timing stay clear.

Is hosting included?

Hosting fees and third-party service costs are not included. We can advise on hosting needs, and our Website & App Deployment service can set up the production environment as a separate piece of work.

Can you build a smaller first version before the full application?

Yes. A focused first version covering the most important workflow is often the most practical start. We scope that version clearly, deliver it, and plan further features as separate stages once the core is in use.

Can the application use data from our existing systems?

Where your systems offer an API or a data export, we can include imports or integrations in the scope. We review what is available during discovery and note any limitations before the quote is confirmed.
