Overview
Good documentation lets people install, operate, maintain or audit something without having to ask the person who built it. We write user and operator manuals, standard operating procedures, product and system specifications, and internal technical guides for engineering, software and operations teams.
We begin by gathering source material: existing notes, drawings, screenshots, code comments and conversations with your subject experts. We then agree an outline, write in plain and consistent language, and add diagrams wherever a picture explains a step better than text. Every document uses a formatted template so headings, warnings and numbered procedures look the same throughout.
You receive the finished document and its editable source files. The Advanced package adds a glossary, index and version-control conventions for long documents that will be updated over time. Translation and regulatory certification are not included.

How we work
Gather source material
We collect your existing notes, drawings and screenshots and speak with the people who know the system.
Agree the outline
We propose a structure and table of contents and confirm it with you before writing starts.
Write and illustrate
Content is drafted in plain language, with diagrams prepared for steps that need visual support.
Review and finalise
You review the draft, we apply the included revision rounds and deliver final and source files.
What we need from you
- Existing notes, drawings, screenshots or specifications
- Access to a subject expert for questions during writing
- Any brand template, style guide or terminology list to follow
- A description of the intended readers and how they will use the document
How pricing works
This work varies too much for fixed packages. We scope it with you, then send a written quote with price, timeline and deliverables before any work starts.
Tell us what you need
Use the quote form or book a consultation and describe your goal, constraints and deadline.
We scope it with you
We review your material and agree deliverables, assumptions and what is out of scope.
Written quote
You receive a fixed price or milestone plan, timeline and revision terms before any work starts.
Not included
- Translation
- Regulatory certification
- Third-party costs: domains, hosting, paid plugins and themes, software licences, API or AI-model usage fees, data-provider credits
- Work outside the written scope agreed before work starts (handled as an add-on or a custom quote)
- Ongoing support after the delivery and launch-support window unless a support package is bought

Technical Documentation: common questions
How does pricing work for technical documentation?
This service is sold as fixed packages based on page count and diagram allowance, so you can book the package that fits your document from the packages above. If the document runs longer, extra pages are available as an add-on, priced before work continues.
Do you translate documents or handle regulatory certification?
No. We write in English and prepare documents to a professional standard, but translation and regulatory certification are not included. If your document must meet a specific standard, share it with us and we will follow its structure, while approval remains with you.
How do revisions work?
Each package includes a set number of revision rounds on the agreed outline and content. Changes that add new sections, products or pages beyond the package are handled as an add-on, and we confirm the cost with you first.
What format will the files be in?
You receive a PDF for distribution plus editable source files in a common word-processing format. If your team works with a particular template or format, tell us at the start and we will confirm it in the scope.
Can you document a system that only our engineers understand?
Yes. That is a common starting point. We interview your engineers, review whatever material exists and turn it into structured documentation, checking technical accuracy with them at the outline and draft stages.
