Custom quote after a short consultation · Timeline agreed in your quote

Scope: We collect publicly available information only, in line with website terms and applicable law. We do not bypass logins, paywalls or other access controls.

Overview

Web research and data collection covers questions that are not about sales contacts: compiling supplier lists, product and price details, directory entries, tenders, events or any set of facts spread across many public websites. It is useful when the information exists online but would take your team days to gather and organise.

We turn your brief into a defined set of columns and rules, then research each record from public sources, by hand or with light automation where it suits the task and the site terms allow it. Information behind logins, paywalls or other access controls is not collected. From the Professional package every record includes a source link, so any value can be traced back.

The Advanced package covers up to 2,000 records and adds a written summary of findings that highlights patterns, gaps and anything notable. For lists of named decision-makers, B2B Lead Generation is the more suitable service; for large, repeatable extraction from specific sites, see Web Scraping.

Who it’s for

  • Operations teams that need supplier, distributor or partner lists compiled
  • Analysts who need a structured dataset gathered from scattered public sources
  • Founders validating an idea with product, pricing or listing data
  • Consultants who need background data compiled for a client project

Problems it solves

  • Get a dataset in one structured file instead of dozens of open browser tabs
  • Trace every value back to where it came from
  • Free your team from repetitive copy-and-paste research
  • Have a short written read-out of what the data shows

What RF ETS delivers

  • Structured spreadsheet built to your agreed column template
  • Source link for each record (Professional and Advanced)
  • Notes on research rules and any records that could not be completed
  • Written summary of findings (Advanced)

How we work

  1. Brief and column template

Your question is turned into fields, formats and inclusion rules that we agree before starting.

  2. Pilot records

A handful of records is researched first so you can confirm the template and level of detail.

  3. Full research

The remaining records are collected from public sources, with a source link captured on higher tiers.

  4. Quality check and delivery

We check consistency and completeness, then deliver the dataset with notes and an Advanced summary.

What we need from you

  • A clear research question or brief
  • The fields you need for each record and any preferred format
  • Starting websites, sources or example records, if you have them
  • Inclusion and exclusion rules, such as regions or company types
Pricing

How pricing works

This work varies too much for fixed packages. We scope it with you, then send a written quote with price, timeline and deliverables before any work starts.

  1. Tell us what you need

Use the quote form or book a consultation and describe your goal, constraints and deadline.

  2. We scope it with you

We review your material and agree deliverables, assumptions and what is out of scope.

  3. Written quote

You receive a fixed price or milestone plan, timeline and revision terms before any work starts.

Not included

  • Information behind logins or paywalls
  • Third-party costs: domains, hosting, paid plugins and themes, software licences, API or AI-model usage fees, data-provider credits
  • Work outside the written scope agreed before work starts (handled as an add-on or a custom quote)
  • Ongoing support after the delivery and launch-support window unless a support package is bought

FAQ

Web Research & Data Collection: common questions

How is web research priced?

Packages are fixed-price and scaled by the number of records, with source links and a summary of findings added at higher tiers; see the packages above. Extra records can be added in blocks, and research that needs specialist judgement or unusual sources is priced through a custom quote.

What if the brief changes once research starts?

Revision rounds cover corrections and formatting. If you add fields, change inclusion rules or extend the scope after research has started, we confirm the impact before continuing, because records already collected may need revisiting.

Can you collect data from sites that need a login or subscription?

No. We collect publicly available information only, in line with website terms and applicable law, and we do not bypass logins, paywalls or other access controls. If the data you need sits behind a subscription you hold, we can discuss what its terms permit.

How is this different from web scraping?

Web research is mostly manual and suits varied sources where judgement is needed to find and interpret each value. Web Scraping is an automated build that extracts structured data from specific sites at scale or on a schedule. If your brief is large and repetitive, we may suggest scraping instead.
