API Development & Integration

API endpoints and system integrations that move data reliably between your applications, with authentication and error handling built in.

Custom quote after a short consultation · Timeline agreed in your quote

Overview

API Development & Integration covers two related needs: building endpoints that let other systems talk to your application, and connecting your existing tools so data flows between them without manual copying. Scope ranges from a single integration or up to 5 endpoints to up to 6 integrations or 30 endpoints.

We review the systems involved, their documentation and the data each side expects, then design the requests, responses and authentication. Every tier includes authentication handling; higher tiers add structured error handling and retries, written API documentation and, in the Advanced tier, automated tests that check each endpoint behaves as specified.

Since third-party APIs differ in quality and limits, the tiers are a scope guide with starting prices and your final price is confirmed in a quote. Third-party subscription fees and hosting are not included; our deployment service can cover hosting where needed.

Who it’s for

  • Businesses re-keying data between systems that do not talk to each other
  • Software teams that need extra endpoints built for an existing application
  • Companies connecting a website or app to a payment, CRM or inventory provider
  • Product owners who need an API documented so partners can integrate with it

Problems it solves

  • Data passed automatically between systems instead of copied by hand
  • Integrations that recover from temporary failures rather than silently stopping
  • Secure access to your data through proper authentication
  • Clear documentation so other developers can use your API

What RF ETS delivers

  • Endpoints or integrations built to the quoted scope
  • Authentication handling for each connected system
  • Error handling and retry logic
  • API documentation (Professional and Advanced)
  • Automated tests covering the endpoints (Advanced)

How we work

  1. Review systems and data

We review each system's API documentation, authentication method, limits and the data fields that need to move.

  2. Design and quote

We define endpoints, data mapping and error behaviour, then confirm the final price in a written quote.

  3. Build and test

We build the endpoints or integrations, handle authentication and failures, and write automated tests where included.

  4. Document and hand over

We deliver the code with API documentation where included and walk your team through how it runs.

What we need from you

  • Access credentials or test accounts for each system involved
  • Any existing API documentation from your providers
  • Example records showing the data that needs to move
  • Details of where the code will run, or a hosting plan
Pricing

How pricing works

This work varies too much for fixed packages. We scope it with you, then send a written quote with price, timeline and deliverables before any work starts.

  1. Tell us what you need

Use the quote form or book a consultation and describe your goal, constraints and deadline.

  2. We scope it with you

We review your material and agree deliverables, assumptions and what is out of scope.

  3. Written quote

You receive a fixed price or milestone plan, timeline and revision terms before any work starts.

Not included

  • Third-party API subscription fees
  • Hosting (see Website & App Deployment)
  • Third-party costs: domains, hosting, paid plugins and themes, software licences, API or AI-model usage fees, data-provider credits
  • Work outside the written scope agreed before work starts (handled as an add-on or a custom quote)
  • Ongoing support after the delivery and launch-support window unless a support package is bought

FAQ

API Development & Integration: common questions

How is API work priced if the tiers show 'from' prices?

The tiers are a scope guide with starting prices. The final price depends on the number of integrations or endpoints and how complex each third-party API is, and it is confirmed in your quote before work starts. Extra endpoints can be added as an add-on.

What if a third-party API changes or a new integration is needed mid-project?

Small adjustments within the quoted scope are covered by your tier's revision rounds. A new integration, extra endpoints or rework caused by a provider changing its API are confirmed as a change to the quote before we continue.

Are hosting and API subscription costs included?

No. Third-party API subscription fees are paid directly to the provider, and hosting is not part of this service. If you need the code deployed, our Website & App Deployment service covers that separately.

Can you work with a provider that has limited documentation?

Often, yes, but it adds uncertainty. We review what is available and use the provider's sandbox if one exists before quoting. Where behaviour is unclear, we note the assumption in the quote so expectations are agreed.

What happens when an integration fails?

Integrations are built to log errors and, from the Professional tier, retry temporary failures such as timeouts. Persistent problems are recorded so they can be investigated rather than lost, and we explain how to check the logs at handover.
